Snowy Mulie
by Jenaya Launstein
My dad, my sisters, and I went down to Waterton the other day to look for some wildlife to photograph in the snow. After searching for bucks for half an hour we decided to go up a different road. We had just turned around when we saw a really nice buck cross the road in front of us. We pulled into the parking lot and tried for a few shots of him from the truck, but the lens couldn't focus because of all the snow. After waiting for a while the buck went up a small hill, my dad went across from him and then called us over. The buck sure didn't mind our company, he just kept eating! I went a little higher up the hill so I could get a better angle. Once the rest of us were up he started posing like crazy! It's almost like he wanted his picture to be taken...
This image is one of my favourites...I just love his pose! I hope you like it!
Thanks for looking!

I like how the buck appears to be trying to see around something to get a better view (of whatever he's looking at). The snow adds nice "context" to the shot and is a big plus.
Cheers...
