Northern harrier

I have very little luck with harriers here in FL, especially getting them against an attractive BG. As usual this bird was too high for a BG other than the sky, but at least it came nice and close.

I like the detail in the bird in this shot.

That's a lot better than I've managed with harriers here in AZ. Good wing position; nice view of the face.

Great eye contact, and detail throughout. I agree they are a tough species to get close too.

Nice eye contact and I like how you can see his feet tucked up out of the way. A plain blue sky is not my favourite background either.

Your usual impeccable techs, Ron. Nice angle for the whole bird and good wing position. :toast:

Very nice light underneath the harrier, nice and sharp. Good look at the eye. Well done.

Excellent detail on the Harrier, I find these birds very elusive and difficult to photograph. Nice work here.

I like the feather detail in the larger version and the way the feet are tucked in by the tail, nice job in getting this flight shot Ron.

Another fine shot Ron! I am jealous...I cannot get near a Harrier. I swear they see me and turn and fly right over someone else instead...every single time!!!
Anyhow, nice details and colors.

sweet looking Harrier, Ron. not the most exciting bg, like you say, but a nice sharp look at the bird in good light.
