Across the Lake

Trying to get back in the swing of posting and commenting. I can't help but notice a lot of new faces here and lots of familiar ones on other sites, mostly social media like G+ and others. Only so many hours in a day I guess...

I've got a serious backlog of images to work through from this summer and fall in the northeast. This is looking across Lake Champlain at the Adirondacks from the Vermont side. I love Vermont but I've often heard people say the best part of Vermont is the view of the Adirondacks

As always thanks for looking.

Real nice depth to the image. I am liking the pattern of land in the foreground combined with the receding ridges and sky. Works well in B&W too.

I thought those mountains looked familiar  Nice shot Kurt, the b&w conversion works really well here. I wish there was just a little more room at the bottom, but this may not have been possible...it's nice to see something close to my neck of the woods! :toast:

The layers are wonderful Kurt, and this works great in B&W. Used to love that view across the lake when I visited Burlington!

Wonderful capture of light, Kurt. Love the layered mountains and clouds. Nice b&w conversion and toning.

Awesome! Love the ridge lines and the reflection on the lake. Might consider cropping a little off the top to a more panoramic aspect ratio. :toast: :toast:

Good job on the B&W processing. You could give the clouds a more dramatic feel with more contrast but I think this is better, more subtle. I agree with Phillip's comment on cropping some of the sky.

I really like the transitions and layers in the mountains, also the way the dark mountains contrast with the soft sky
