Hope you're not tired of ravens, here's another of the same pair of ravens, this time in better weather. Because they were perched on a garbage can (classic raven style!) I opted for a tighter composition, which I think ended up working well. I think the tight crop emphasizes the intimacy of the scene.

I appreciate your critiques and comments. Please view the larger version if possible.

Canon 7D, 100-400 at 160mm, handheld.

f/8, 1/100, ISO 640

Crop to 84% (15.2 of 18MP), exposure adjustment, sharpened, no other processing.

Fun title -- good to see a catchlight in both birds eyes -- black feather detail looks good -- good job taking on a difficult shot

The title is very fitting and the image is excellent. I really like the light and the detail.

The interaction makes this shot for me Brian, nice job with the dof and exposure too. :toast: He´s probably whispering ¨what is that guy doing so close to us?¨

Great composition, Brian. I like the clear look at the eyes of both birds and the interaction is priceless. Black birds are tough, but I think I'd back off on the brightness a bit here.

I really like the tight crop and the attention to detail. It's kinda pixalated on my computer, but it still looks good.
