This Coastal Brown Bear cub was hanging around our photo tour group in Lake Clark National Park. When she tried to approach closer, our guide yelled "no!" She laid down and folder her paws. Looks like she was trying to get out of trouble.
Canon 40D with 100 to 400 lens set at 300MM.

Is that scar tissue across its snout? It looks so mournful and chastised. Well done, getting on a level, good eye contact, pose and detail.

It looks like she's been in trouble before and has learned her lesson well. Handsome animal in a wonderful pose. :wavey:

Hi David,

Very cute shot of a nice looking little bear. Love the eyes and claws, and the detail is very good. Compositionally it works well for me too. I get the feeling (from what looks like some blood stains on its snout) that this one might be a bit of a sloppy eater?

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

I love the pose and the eye expressions. The exposure looks really good, too. I don't know where original edges of the the capture are, but I would like to see a touch more space, especially on the left edge where the frame meets the foreleg.

Hello David

Very endearing Image & Well Trained Bear ! I agre with Lon & would like more Room if you had it available. ALWAYS enjoy seeing the Environment where Image was captured. Would Also enjoy a Large View to see Everything better with my tired eyes.
those exposed Claws are Great & my eye is drawn to them , Also Enjoy the Bears Expressive Eyes. Different expression from each Eye.

Very Nice Image & Thanks for sharing.

That is one cute cub! You have some great detail in her fur! Very nice catchlights in the eyes. I do agree with the others that a little more room all around would look nice, but I don't know if this is full frame or not.

Yes, a bit more space on the left would better this otherwise great shot. Bears are smarter than most people realize. This is a good example. Nice work.
