Well, My wife and thought of the haggered little tree that Charlie Brown picked out. maybe this little tree isn't beat so much, but oh well. This is right next to the snow and leaves image lon posted a couple of weeks back. The first images we captured that day in Yosemite. I thought the candy colored dogwood for a background was kind of nice. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Sorry to be slacking on my participation lately. It seems like life's stuff is hindering my motivation. Hope you cut me some slack!

The bg is a treat and adds so much to the scene. Nice little tree and absolutely wonderful detail in the snow. A very pleasant and appealling image.

This is a very cute scene Chris. Very fitting for Christmas. The background at the top adds a lot like Nacy said. This is one of those images are actually stronger in composition than it immediatly appears to be. It is a well structured composition, very well simplified, but it is subtle and quiet.

The background color is excellent and is the icing on the cake in this great composition.

Hi Chris, I'm really enjoying this shot! I think it is a wonderful winter scene, especially right now when we are close to Christmas. This is very well thought out, and very nice! Merry Christmas!

The delicate textures here are really nice. The snow looks a little greenish, but it works here.

Fantastic, Chris. Love how this little guy (or gal) seems a little overwhelmed by the snow. The color / leaves in the BG is really nice, and you have wonderful textures in the snow.

Chris,

So that's what you were up to? This came out wonderfully! As others have mentioned the dogwood backdrop is excellent and adds a nice touch of color. Also mentioned, the nice texture in the snow, including the little mound up front. In fact that mound adds an element to complete the foreground, mid-ground and background elements for a complete comp. Without the little mound up front you definitely could shorten this from the bottom. Even with the mound I'm wondering if even cropping in to the mound would be a viable alternative? Just thinkin'

We'll have to remember this spot for next year. Of course what are the odds we'll see snow like this next time.

Looking forward to see more Chris. I know you've got 'em.

Neat, Chris, me likes. But next time bring a couple Xmas tree ornaments, they're essential props for a shot like this.
