Unnamed Falls in GSMNP

Found this little waterfall last weekend along the Middle Prong of the Little River just past Tremont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It had rained for a day before and was still overcast, making for great waterfall shooting conditions. This was right next to the road and only required climbing a couple dozen feet to get this shot.

This time of year seems to be bleak and dull, but not in the park. The mosses are brilliant green and the number of evergreens and rhododendrons make for some nice green scenes. Now, all we need is a good snow!

Very nice cascade and the green of the mosses is certainly a bonus for December. I think it's a very attractive shot and I agree that it's high time for some snow in these parts.

I know this spot well, it is a regular stop for me. Really good water flow and the "greeness" is really strong, especially for December. Shows the value of getting out and poking around.

A very lovely image, Richard. The diagonal placement of the waterfall adds a nice visual tension to the scene.

Richard,

Great lookin' cascade. I really like the clean whites of the falls and the greens still look good and you've presented quite a natural look in terms of color and saturation. I also like that you've retained some texture in the water and it's not blown out anywhere.

Just the natural slope of the land gives this the illusion of being tilted, but I believe that this is level and true.

Interesting. Thought this was PNW when it popped open. Very nice scene and nicely managed light. Can't think of any suggestions.
