a broad view

Here is a view from the area of Mount Avic natural park, in the mountains of Val d'Aosta, north-western Italy. The picture was shot at the beginning of November and somehow I liked the complexity of the scene and the richness created by the many (perhaps too many) different elements which create the alpine landscape. Also, I enjoyed the sense of quiet they convey. On the background, there is the massif which includes the Matterhorn, but it is covered with clouds.

Leica M9, Summicron 2/35, tripod.

Richly composed scene that fills the frame with much for the viewer to explore. Beautiful. Maybe a touch of blue in snow and a very deep blue in that lake...which sets the mood as cool. The Matterhorn and the horizon of all those peaks would be nice to see...though I really like clouds and the price paid is fine. Nicely presented.

Gorgeous mountain scene Antonello. A lot to look at but well organized. I especially like how the deep blue lake contrasts the snowy areas.

As you note, it's pretty busy. I could do w/o much of the foreground here--a vantage from down by the lake might have been better, assuming there was still a view from there. Nice mountain scenery though... :wavey:

Wow. Looks like the state of Washington. I was thinking the Cascades or Enchantments. Beautiful scenery and country. Thanks for sharing.

Ant,

This is a wonderful mountain landscape. I think your comment about the "complexity" of the scene is true - and in a very positive way. I think all those elements fit beautifully together and each of them add to the overall impact of this grand vista. A Picture Postcard as they say.

This is a very pretty scene. I agree the FG is a little too much. I think you might want to try moving up to the rock with the moss on it and try using it for the FG anchor. I would love to come give it a try for you!

I like the scene, but the light feels very blue. Sort of goes with the season, but could see playing with color balance to warm it up.

Thank you all for your comments!

I realize that there is really a lot in the scene, but somehow I was captured by the intricate details... Just forgetting the old saying that "less is more"...

I also tried some pictures from the big rock or from the lake, the views are nice but one loses the grand vista of the mountain range in the background...

And yes, it is a touch too blue, I'll try to warm it up a bit - not much perhaps, to keep the cold feeling...

Best wishes to everybody
