Weeping Willow Leaves

by Barbara Sammons

This dried weeping willow leaves image is another in my series of scan art. The leaves were placed directly on the glass bed of my scanner and scanned into a .tiff file and then processed in Nik Software's Viveza. It is an interesting process and one I find very challenging.

Comments, thoughts ... all are very much appreciated.

Barbara: Great color and detail in the scan. My only nit is the tight framing. This would work better for me if none of the tips or stems were touching the edge. I do like how you arranged the leaves. >=))>

Bill, thanks so much for your comments. I see what you mean and I agree. This is such a new process for me and I learn something new each time I try a scan, but I think the idea of using a scanner is so interesting. I just need to work on the layout and overall design. Thanks again and I hope to post more in the future.

A really neat image Barbara. Other than the aforementioned edges being tight, this looks great. Looking forward to more.

Beautifully done, Barbara! Great presentation and array of colors. Scanning can yield some eye-catching results, and this is certainly a fine example.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and thoughts. I will continue to work on this method of photography to see what results I can achieve. Happy New Year to everyone. I just posted "Calla Lilies" in this gallery ... another one from the scanner.

Hi Barbara :wavey: i think you are progressing beautifully on your work with the scanner. the colors and detail are very good. Have you mastered adding canvas in photoshop?

Todd and Albert, thanks so much for your comments. Albert, I have done some work with the canvas texture in Photoshop but have not tried it on these scanner images. Good idea and one that I will try. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
