Yellowstone Bighorns

Earlier this year my family and I went on our annual Yellowstone National Park trip. On our way into the park we saw tons of people pulled over on the side of the road looking up at the cliffs. We looked and saw a herd of Bighorn Sheep coming down. The Bighorn lambs were a little skiddish in front of the crowds of people all trying to take pictures of them. This guy was very curious around everyone. He had followed his mother down the cliff to feed on some grass that was across the road. He ate a little bit, but mostly watched what everyone else was doing. I think in this picture he is looking at a car that just pulled in. After a while he didn't seem as worried and started to hang out with some of the other lambs. I guess being a baby animal in Yellowstone means getting used to the crowds that want pictures of you  !

Thanks for viewing!

Jenaya, this photo illustrates the way wildlife has to adapt to human encroachment very well. I've never been to a park like Yellowstone, but I hear that sightings like these can create traffic jams & that tourists often try to get too close.
