Cades Cove Oak

Taken last spring in Cades Cove. Had to crop out the strong shadow in the foreground. Then, converted to a B&W which I think is better than the color version. There are a couple of small fence posts behind the tree. Otherwise, this would go into the landscape gallery.

Used Nik Siver Efex Pro2 for the conversion.

Looks great to me too, Tom. I like the conversion and enjoy the mood very much!... Guess I feel the same as Russell.

Lovely scene, and the BW conversion works very well. Seems to need a bit of CW rotation to level the fields.

Real sweet, Tom! Great darker tree against the high key background. Fog provides a great mood, too.

Fantastic scene and I like it B&W. As Sandy says the field is not level but I think if you level the field the tree might look a bit tilted??!!
I like it. well done. :toast:

I think B&W works well with this. It brings out the texture in the tree. Nice detail here, and that mist in the BG gives it a nice feel.

Well, not every field is level. So, I am going to leave the tree standing straight. One thing that I did miss are a few sensor spots. Thanks for all of the comments. Happy New Year everyone. :toast:

Nice choice for bnw. The tree stands out well against the mist and highlights on the hills. Lovely image.

Beautiful shot and the black and white makes for a powerful image. My only nit would be that I would like to see a bit more contrast in the background hills.
