The northern sky turned pink just before sunrise on Saturday. The cloud bank was relatively low, though, with blue sky above it. 7D, ISO 400, f/8, 1/30, 228mm, slight crop. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Happy New Year!!!

Lovely pastel sky showing off the big skies of the prairie. The blue in the water looks a bit strong, a local desaturation would fix that.

This is very pretty, Rob. I very much like the mood of this. I do agree with Mark on the blue water, maybe a bit less saturation there, but it does look pretty cool!

I love the pastels in this scene, Rob. You captured a wonderful mood here. I too would desat the blue water just a bit.

Thanks for the comments. I debated on the blue while processing, and while I left it this way originally, I will desat it a little in future versions.

Rob,

The strip of blue really makes this for me. Sure, you could desaturate a little bit, but it's the contrast with the pastels that really work beautifully. Have you considered a pano crop? The length of the blue water and line of trees are almost calling for a narrow format. But still, this works quite beautifully as presented.
