Moonset

Hope everyone had a nice holiday season and is off to a great 2012. This is from the day after Christmas in southern Vermont. I was on my way home from a client meeting and couldn't resist pulling over to silhouette this ridge-line against the twilight sky and setting crescent moon. As always thanks for taking a peek.

5DII, 24-70 f2.8L, ISO 100, f11 @ 3.2sec.

Out of curiosity: is anyone else seeing a color difference btwn the thumbnail and the full size image. I'm noticing that blues are occasionally going too cyan after making the conversion to sRGB. It seems odd though that there would be a discrepancy btwn a thumbnail and the full size? Thanks

Very nice and simple scene. It works quite nicely for me. No noticeable difference in color for me, but I am on a lousy monitor at work that makes it tough to discern.

I can't resist a crescent moon and a single star. The silhouetted hills and evening blue sky make a serene image. Nice

Nice take on something of a familiar scene. No nits from me.

Beautiful silhouetted scene Kurt. I don't see any difference between the thumbnail and post.

Very nicely done, Kurt. I really like the gradation of blue in the sky and cresent moon is the cherry on top. I was going to suggest cropping off those trees on the right, but then you would lose part of the cloud. So, I guess I changed my mind.

Love the simplicity and the nice gradations in the sky. The slightly pano format works nicely with the strong dark form of the mountain. Nice.

Kurt,

I love this love this. Simply, elegant and clean. The moon Venus and the small cloud are perfect against that sinuous horizon. I do not notice any color difference between this and the thumbnail.

Awesome silhouette Kurt, so simple yet so effective. Is that Jupiter next to the moon? :toast:

Love the simplicity of the composition and how well it works, it draws the eyes to the moon and Venus.
The little cloud was a nice touch too.

Love it Kurt. Simple, clean - and excellent crescent moon image. I particularly love the lone cloud. That one adds a lot to the image.

No nits or suggestions here.

Quite graphic and lovely, Kurt. I don't really look too closely at color quality of the thumbs.
