Sea Mist - w/Repost

I've been without a camera for just over 2 months now after it died from a swim in the ocean, but it has allowed me to catch up on a large backlog of processing while waiting for the new round of camera releases.

This one is from April 2010 that I originally posted in black & white, but had always preferred the color version. Would like to hear your thoughts if the color works for you or if it's too strong etc. I had been experimenting with the Singh Ray Color Combo polarizer, but I have been mostly disappointed when using it, except in a few cases like this one where I quite liked the effect.

D80, 35mm lens, f/11, 364sec, Singh Ray color combo polarizer.
Location - Pre-dawn at Fingal Head, New South Wales.

Thank you for your comments.

David,
I really like you comp and capture, the contrast between the long exposure for the water and clouds and the rocks is outstanding.
Nicely done

I like it a lot David, the colour works fine and the movement in the water and clouds is very cool :toast:

The color has an other-worldly look to it, but it works well with this image. Real nice.

I generally like the image and find the composition to be very cohesive. I'm on the fence about the color, particularly the strong cyan/blue. In the sky it feels fine to me but less so with the water, which feels less natural.

Very eerie, definitely a mood piece. the flow of the water against the rocks is a great element.

Beautiful, moody image. I love it. I don't know the B&W version, but I like the colors here.

Love the blues and the water motion. The light on the foreground rocks is especially nice. excellent.

the sky is really awesome and I like the comp. the cyan is rather strong for my tastes - a little too surreal -- and I wonder if it would better if the hue were shifted a little more to the blue side and the sat turned down some?

Thanks Doug for your feedback on the color. I shifted blues away from cyan as you have suggested... how does it look now?

Yeah, I think the repost is a big improvement. Doug seems to have hit the nail on the head. It works great all around for me now.

I don't know which I like better: the clouds or the foreground rocks. This is an excellent photo.
