Bachsee twilight
Happy New Year!
This is the Schreckhorn (probably named after Shrek :-) and very close to the Eiger which means Ogre! Strange coincidence)
from the Berner Oberland, Switzerland, reflected in a small alpine lake. It's one of my favorite places in the Alps.
Thank you for your comments!

I agree on the contrail matter, it is a shame. I was considering cloning out the big one on the right.
A long exposure would have helped this, but in that time (2008) I did not work with long exposures yet.
As this is my favorite location, I have many pictures from here, with different lights, clouds, compositions, but the light and the color is the best on this one.
I will post a few more from here. (until it gets boring
Anyways, this is an amazing photo. The colors, the composition, and the levels of detail are excellent. The contrails are a real pity (it seems like almost all of those clouds started out as contrails). But there's nothing you can do about that, unfortunately. Great job!
Well I come from a flat land, so for me these huge mountains are very fascinating.
