Peregrine falcon

This peregrine has been hanging out along the wooded and flooded shoreline of a local lake. I sure can't see what food source is keeping this bird in its current location as there really are no prey items that fit a peregrine's general diet that I could see. But, it is where it is and it knows best.

Very difficult to get at all close to this bird. A lot of patience and luck involved in getting this shot.

Looks like he's doing 90mph, excellent feather details and flight position in great light too. Killer Flight Shot Ron

Yikes - shots like this aren't made without bait/owls or crazy luck and skill. You had plenty of luck and skill on your side (and lighting to boot).

The lighting is superb and I love that background. The dynamic flight posture surely suggests great speed (except possibly for the position of the feet). A species I've never been able to get in flight up close so I'm certainly envious of this. Another one of those images that means so much more to me knowing that it wasn't baited or lured in. Well done.

Excellent Ron... love the quality of light here and the sense of speed you've captured with that amazing wing position and intense focus of the Peregrine.

Very impressive shot. Great looking flight pose and the light is real nice. There was probably more patience and skill than luck involved in the shot. Very well done. :toast:

Patience and luck paid off with this spectacular shot. All things aside, I like the warm colors best of all. The composition, catch light, and the position of the feet add to this superb image.

No bird looks like it is flying faster than a Peregrine in flight. Very nicely captured, and your usual spot-on techs. Sweet light. I think you nailed it, Ron.
