Overall, a very nice image Barbara. I like the simple comp and the BG. Bird looks nice and sharp. I might bring up the overall brightness a bit if this were mine. I seems a little dark.

This works for me as posted. Nice detail; solid composition. Slightly brighter would be fine as Ron suggests.

Good detail and comp- cool that you got him to pose on the top of that stump. Very well captured Barbara.

Very nice Barbara! I like your repost with lightening up the subject. If mine I might play with cloning out the distant background vegetation along the bottom of the frame, which might emphasis the limpkin an perch even more. A slight head turn might have been nice, but you were getting the stare. ;-)

Nice, Barbara. The bird does seem to pop a bit more in the repost.

Very nice Barbara. Your photography is coming along nicely. There is very good detail in the larger image and the colors in the bird seem spot on. I do like the lighter version and I wish that we could see the repost in large too-

I really like the second post the best. It's very difficult to photograph dark subjects against such a bright sky....you did a great job!

Hi Barbara.Your repost is great and the detail pops even more as well. I don't mind the vegetation I just wish the bg had a slight color to it. See you soon

Cool! I rather like the high-key look here. Brightness looks fine to me, maybe it's just the bird looks a bit darker against that brighter background.

Having this shy bird out in the open and atop an interesting perch with such a smooth background makes for a lovely composition .the reposted image looks very good to me .
