Machu Picchu In Morning

Gallery: Man & NaturePosted January 14, 2012803 views6 comments
This has been a busy year. One of the highlights has been our trip to Machu Picchu. I made this image early in the morning last June. As soon as the gates opened Gail and I hiked up to the vantage point as fast as we could to get the right location and before the Sun peaked over the Andes mountains on the right.

The image is a 5 image HDR from EV -2 to +2 processed in PS and Photomatix. (Moderators - if this is in the wrong gallery due to the HDR please move. Equipment was Canon 1D MK4 with 17-40 @17 with polarizer. Full frame.

Thanks for looking. Comments most welcome.

Wow! What a view! An those light rays coming in on the right are wonderful! I can't imagine how impressive this place must be to see it first hand! The mountains below the light rays seem a bit blue-ish to me. Easy fix though. Outstanding!

Beautiful. I like the beams coming in from the right.

Marvellous processing. The beams of light certainly make this special.

What a view you have here, and no one standing in your view. There seems a little craziness in the blend at the sky-land junctions, haloing maybe? Because of the uniformity of the halo, looks like it might be a processing issue.
