I like the overall presentation, Sandy, but I personally think the flower itself lacks sufficient detail and blends in too much with the BG. I don't have any specific suggestion other than perhaps playing with the BG color or tone.

Sandy:
Lovely take on this poppy. The center looks terrific. Like Scot, I wish the petals did not fade into the bg. Perhaps making the bg whiter may help.

Very lovely Sandy. The white on white works beautifully in this shot. Perhaps it would also be nice if the petals were more defined but for my taste I like it as posted.

Nice shot, Sandy. I like the composition and the center of the flower. As the others I think that the BG colour is maybe too similar to the flower colour and some details are lost.

OK, I'll be the contrarian. I like it as posted. So there! Another version of this poppy might be a square crop.

Sandy: I like this high key and wonder if some of the concern may be monitor related. On my laptop I see the petal edges clearly. I also like your simple frame and overall presentation. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

I love the flower, but I feel that the stem could be a bit lower, coming out closer to the left, bottom corner. Like the high key shot.

Lovely work Sandy , I love the hi key approach for this shot, The pedals do blend a little into the BG ,as Bill said maybe a monitor issue as I can still see them but what makes this image for me is the lovely warm yellow glow falling on the pedals almost radiating out from the center. Cheers

Lovely composition and I also personally think the exposure is wonderful. The petals are defined, but the fact that they are very similar to the BG really makes the center of the blossom the center of attention. The petals provide a spledid supporting element.

Sandy, I too can see the petal edges clearly but its close to tonal merge with the background. If possible I'd suggest darkening the background a little bit.
Apart from that small concern, Love the rest of the frame

Great idea that needs a little more definition between foreground and background... not much just a tweak. Love high key images and this has a lot of potential.

Love the highkey effect. Beautiful focal points and comp. A pleasure to behold.
