Hi everyone, it's long since i posted and commented here, but my job (my main job i mean) kept me very busy. Anyway, this little friend has been "shot" during my last trip in Zambia last October.

Techs: D2Xs - nikkor 200-400 f/4 @400 - WB manual - SS 1/1600
PP: cropped for composition some BG adjustment to remove intruders.

C&C wellcome.

I like the simple comp Luca. Maybe a bit too dark overall. I might bring up the brightness a bit. I also see a lot of color banding in the BG. Maybe from web compression.

Great capture, Luca. Superb sharpness, in particular in the larger version, for such a little bird ! IMHO you could increase just a bit the ligtness of the BG :toast:

Gorgeous bird, well depicted- Nice pose and excellent detail on subject, maybe a tad more brightness could even improve it- The banding on BG seemed weird at first, but after I read your explanation- Very well done, Fabio

Nice and sharp. It is a little dark for me. I would have also liked to see the tail a bit sharper. Looks like you could have traded off some shutter speed for a larger depth of field.

Nice subject, nice shot ! The larger version is quite okay for me, I like darkish pictures and the bird itself is nicely lit IMO. Cheers, Hans

Looks OK to me.
Pehaps lighten the eye up a little but no big deal

Lovely job on the bee Eater, Luco.. There's some banding in the bg-looks like a compression artifact or something.

Beautiful colors and excellent sharpness. I like the simplicity of the perch and the background. Appears slightly dark on my screen. Hope your job lets up soon.

Great details/colors and the exposure though low-key looks good to me.
I wish for a bit more DOF to bring in those feet, and the color banding I see's are my only nits Luca.
Nice post regardless.
