In The Shadows

Here is another shot from the same morning as my last post. This was done at Canoe Meadows in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. I liked the cool/warm contrasts and found that band of ice interesting. This is a blend of two images, one with polarizer turned to cut the reflection where the water and stones meet and one with polarizer turned to reveal reflections. Compression hurts this one a bit, but you get the idea! Thanks for any comments!

Great vision! I really enjoy the "upward unfolding" that the circular blue line and the tree reflections create. Meanwhile, the rocks in the foreground maintain a connection with reality.

I could not figure it from the thumbnail. It is a bit of a mind bender, along with some intense color. The rocks nicely anchor the abstract nature of the rest of the image.

Great shot. I like how it feels like the top layer is floating. Intriguing visuals.

Wayne, this works great as abstract, good eye. I would maybe crop the bottom just little. Good stuff!

Originally I thought it was some cascading surf. Beautiful, thoughtful image.

Great comp Wayne! I like the tree reflections just barely avoiding the curve of the deeper water/ice. Nice details and colors all around. Very nice!

Really liked the thumb of this and the bigger version is even better. It's abstract and real at the same time, and that's not easy. Good eye for seeing this one.

The colors, textures, and the liens formed by the reflection of the trees really makes for an interesting photo. Great eye for seeing this one!

Fascinating! The blue streak that arcs across the bottom is awesome. What a great find. My only small nit is the white rock on the bottom right...maybe tone it down a bit. :toast:

Great approach. The blended polarization makes for a very interesting viewing. The band of ice is indeed eye catching. Well done.
