Daffodils on Parade

I purchased a small pot of daffodils from my local nursery, cut the blooms from the stems and placed them directly on the glass of my scanner and scanned them in for processing. Once I was happy with the colors and textures, I made a duplicate layer, cropped it tight and then laid it over the original. I did this several times to get this effect. Just trying different compositions with this technique of scanner art.

Equipment: Epson Perfection V33 Scanner
Post Processing: Nik Software's Viveza and Color Efex Pro

Your feedback is always much appreciated.

Lovely design, Barbara. I didn't realize I was looking at Daffodils until I read your back information. The image reminds me very much of the Corn design used by American Indians in the creation of rugs.

Really interesting work.

Looks great! Wonderful job of composing. If I remember right, the Disney artists were supposedly on "something" when they did Pink Elephants on Parade, what's your excuse?

Hey Mark, great suggestion though. Maybe it's the bright lights from the scanner that are playing tricks with my head. Or is it just that creative side of my brain that hasn't been tapped? I do remember those dancing brooms in one of the Disney movies ... hmmm, I may need to think about that for a creative piece.

Thanks to everyone for taking a look and your comments. I love working with the scanner and my creative side and I do appreciate your comments very much.

A very nice abstract Barbara. The center of the image begs for some text of some sort. Really nice.

Thanks David. You're right, the certain does seem like it could use something. I thought I would just leave it blank and then add text when I wanted to print it as a card. I've got lots of ideas for more abstracts using this scanner method, so we'll see. Thanks for all the feedback.
