Bosque Takeoff

A Sandhill Crane takes off from the crane pools at Bosque del Apache in the early morning light. I didn't get a lot of good takeoff shots this year, mostly due to troubles isolating a single bird, but this one turned out pretty well.

I appreciate your critiques and comments. Please view the larger version if possible.

Sweet light Brian. It is TOUGH to get one bird isolated but there were fewer birds this year than in the past from what I've heard. The colors are amazing. Good sharpness and wing position. Nicely done.

Gorgeous. One really needs to open the larger version to appreciate the image fully. Congrats.

I loved Bosque, but I could visit every year for 20 years and not get such a wonderful flight shot. :toast:

Brian-very nice flight takeoff posture and lovely light. The rust bars on the breast and under wing match the background colors and provide a very warm feel to the whole image.

Very nice take off pose and overall composition. I like the soft morning light, the wings pointing up, seeing the feet wet and the layered background, nice job in getting this, well done.
