Taken one morning when the light was not that great. Gadwalls are my favorite duck and this fellow came pretty close and just circled around in the early dim light. I felt very relaxed and took a few images of him and I was rewarded. This image still relaxes me when I view it.

I did play around a bit in CS5 but I cannot really remember what I did but I liked the results.

Hope you enjoy also.

I have to agree with you. Gadwalls have a subtle beauty. This is a gorgeous image. Maybe a trifle too dark. The smudge around the head could easily be fixed. Anyway, I first noticed this because you and I are the only folks who applied a vertical interpretation to the serene theme so far. Very peaceful.

I agree about getting rid of the smudge around the head, but other than that there is a really sweet feeling to this photograph!

Very appealing image! I love the pose and look at the back. VERY "serene" !
A bit dark for my taste - you might experiment with some lightening.
Nice!

Very nice timing on this capture. Nice details. Only suggestion would be to back off on the vignetting a bit.

The blur and vignetting are a bit distracting - just reducing those a bit would help a lot. Otherwise, this is a lovely portrait. Very peaceful and beautiful.
