Morning Bugle

This is an older photo (2010), newly processed. I had spent the better part of 3 hours in the trees near this bull, watching him chase off competitors and gather his harem, before he finally stopped to bugle for a couple of seconds in the open.

As always, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Nice looking bull in a good pose. the color and detail look good. It would have been nice if the bulls head was against the sky instead of the tree. It would have stood out better.

Looks like a nice healthy bull in action. It would have been a better image if you could have gotten a different angle without the tree behind the head. Maybe move around or wait 'til he moved? Still, the antlers are pretty well distinguished.

Hi Guy,

This shot looks technically sound and you've timed the capture well. I tend to agree with the others that having the tree directly behind the head makes it more challenging to make out the outline of the head and hampers the image somewhat.

Cheers...

The pose and perspective are excellent...the tree unfortunate. You found an optimum angle for bright light conditions, too, and it gives us a nice look at his face.
