The Air We Are Breathing

Dear all

This was taken in Bangkok in early 2009. Though I think the smog makes for a great photo, it sure is not healthy and a very clearly visible sign of human impact on our environment.

Nikon D300, 18-135 DX, stitched panorama.

Wow! You nailed this one Basil. I can almost feel the smog in the back of my throat. I've found it difficult at times to get just the right exposure as you've done here. By the time I expose for detail in the foreground some of the effect of the smog in the air is lost. It could be that I simply haven't found smog as dense as this along with the array of landscape features into the distance to help show it's increasing density with distance.

Well done! :toast:

Nice exposure of a bad situation - a compelling image showcasing a major environmental issue.

Makes my eyes burn just looking at it. Effective, but a depressing photo. Congratulations on the WP.

Like this one very much, Basil- Your pano composition is excellent, it gives a great impact to the image- That yellow color of the air has the smell of sulphur, that's very sad for the Bangkok's people- My congrats on your WP, Fabio
