Trumpeter Swan Cygnets

This is an antique photo I made using film in Yellowstone on the Madison River in 1994. These siblings found a quiet place in the river after a highly spirited altercation between an invading adult swan and the cygnets parents. Perfectly timed, a bit of sun broke through the clouds and lit the resting swans while the dark un-lit forest reflected in the river. One of the most serene moments I have experienced (so far).

Nikon FM2, Nikkor 300mm lens, Fuji Velvia Film

I appreciate all your comments and suggestions.

Fantastic grouping and tones Ken ! Maybe it's just this small jpeg but two of the swans seem a touch dark. This is looking hard because it is a stunning image

Yellowstone's a magic place - don't think you could've created better lighting in a studio.

Unbelievably beautiful, Ken. Serenity and beauty, somehow reminds me of a ballet.

I especially like the low light "mystique" of this one Ken.. It's beauty unfolds to a greater degree the longer you look into it. Very nice & have a great weekend! :toast:
