What a catch. Good details in the hawk. I like the low POV. Must have been gut-wrenching for the coot ;-)

cool, Sandy. good light, nice low angle. I'm not particularly squeamish, but still probably not one I'd hang on the wall--a cool capture of nature at work for sure though.

Sandy, congrats on getting this! Not the prettiest side of nature, but still a great capture!

Well, this certainly shows nature. Too bad we can't see more of the coot - like something to give us a clue it's a coot. (I'm not getting that from just the guts.)

Nice action and behavior in this one Sandy...also nice low angle. Looks like those intestines are about ready to snap in half any minute!

Nice behavioral shot. Good exposure and detail, and effective background. I've watched golden eagles with prey, and they pull the guts out, and do some plucking, but don't eat the guts. I assume this redtail is just removing the intestines to get them out of the way?

I just don't understand why raptors don't like the intestines. Oh wait, yes I do, I hate tripe. A great shot of this hawk Sandy. Nice to see raw nature every so often.
