Ring-necked Pheasant #1

Nikon D300, 340 mm, F/7.1, 1/100, ISO 200.

Usually all I see is very common birds on my property. Now I have this beautiful guest, a Ring-necked Pheasant, feeding next to the house every day. I assume the reason he is here is because of the seed and corn we put for the winter birds. I will be sending in a series on this guy, hope you will enjoy them. Comments appreciated.

The high key element here reslly shows off the colors of the bird.Wonder if the image needs some rotation?

Bright colours nicely set off by the snow.
Nice exposure, retaining detail in the snow.
I agree it needs a bit of CW rotation.

A nice exposure Albert. By the looks of this guy's tail, he has had some action. Agree about the need for rotation.

cool image, Albert. I like the snowy setting, and the difficult exposure looks good, as does your comp.

The snow sets off the colors well here Albert. He gave you a nice head turn. I agree with the comment about the CW rotation....if it were mine, I might also crop into a vertical format....the image feel a bit off balanced to me with the negative colorless space on the right.

Amazing display of colors and feather patterns in these pheasants, I like the look back so you can see the eye and more of the head, well done.
