In novemeber I visited this little waterfall called „Mutzbach“.This place is not far away from our home so I’ve been visiting it very often the last two or three years but this was my first visit in autumn. Actually I thought I was a little bit late this morning and the good light had already gone when suddenly the sun peeked over the hill and made for an interesting light situation.
Hope this works.

Techs:Nikon D700,AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR @22mm,Iso:200 ,1sec f16 ,polarizer, Raw double processing(lights & darks), blended manually in photoshop

Looks like a nice spot! I'll have to check it out...

Like your composition. The sunburst really works well.

Beautiful Bill. Love the sunburst, and like the composition very much. The scattered leaves make for a very nice FG, and I like the nice placement of the waterfall.

wonderful rich color and that lovely sunstar make this an excellent scene. Very well composed, and the light is great

I like the FG of leaves a lot Bill, the light is fantastic as well. I kind of wish that small tree wasn't in front of the falls but that's nature for you! I might also burn down the highlights on the backlit moss on the fg tree just a bit, tends to grab my eye because it's such a straight line. The beams of light hitting the canopy are really special.

Waterfall image where the waterfall is almost a minor element. That's pretty cool, Bill, and it works quite well. Just love how the elements here play off each other.

Love the color and your composition. The sun rays are superb. Great job with the double processing, considering the backlit elements of the image. Your 'interesting light situation' is really an outstanding image.

nicely done in difficult lighting conditions. maybe a bit more separation between the falls and the tree but likely not possible in the event. good work!

I love the scene, the atmosphere and subject are terrific, all the techs look good--but to be honest, the tree is too dominant for me, it feels divisive when i would prefer cohesiveness here. FWIW, there's an easy fix for me--i just screen crop the bottom and the rhs so the tree is a frame/border on the right--and then i really love this shot!

Bill,

I like this very much. Looks very natural, the way I would expect to have seen it myself had I been there. Well done.

Nice sht Bill. As Stan mentioned the tree is very dominant but I still like it as is. His crop suggestion also works very well so you've got two fine images here. :toast:
