Let There Be Peace

In the earliest Christian art, the dove represented the peace of the soul rather than civil peace.
"Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me"
F/8, 1/3200th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4 ext around 11:00am, clear & sunny. White-winged Dove. Very close to full frame.

Very nice image Howard, it reminds me of the award winner dove shot from last year, won the prize at L'Image magazine. Your images are always well shot and composed and this is no exception. Well done!

The image "Angelic Dove" your thinking of won the grand prize in the Birds & Blooms contest last year..
Not a major contest by any means, but the money came in handy.
L'image is a new magazine that offers monthly contests as you know, and has only been in existence less than a year now.

Nice flight shot Howard, I like pose and you can just see the red eye plus the larger image has good detail where it counts, way to go.

Howard,
Very nice capture. Thanks for the information regarding the dove. It does look peaceful. Love the blue ring around the red eye. Larger image shows great detail. It looks like there is a smudge of some sort coming of the tail. Could be something with the background but if not you could certainly clone that out. Good luck with getting permission to shoot the prey nesting site. Look forward to seeing those images Howard. :toast:
