On(4/17/10) I encountered two Yellowstone Wolves who understand the value of a classic pose. This fellow stood on a boulder and adopted various poses while I captured image after image. I was
euphoric . . . still am. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA.

Canon EOS-7D, Canon 500 f4L IS w Canon 1.4 extender - 1/8000@ f/7.1, ISO 400, Bogen 3411 w Wimberley style head. Processed in Adobe Lightroom 3.4

Well Done! The rock and OOF foliage seem just a tad dark to me, but otherwise a very fine photograph. It must have been exciting to see one so close, and then strike such a good pose! Thanks for sharing.

Love teh pose and position of the wolf. I agree that it looks a tad dark. Amazing shot, nonetheless. :toast:

Really nice shot Ken - the oof bush in the fg is unfortunate, and the wolf, rock and sage look a bit oversharpened, but still a wonderful Yellowstone wolf shot.

Wow! A dream shot, for sure! Nits already mentioned. A larger photo would be much appreciated.

A regal pose indeed and a good placement in the frame...though I would have perhaps opted to include less at the bottom and more of the OOF mountain in the BG at the top. It does look a bit dark/contrasty - not sure if you were shooting at a negative EV compensation?

Is the dark OOF part front RHS a bush? If so was it possible to move to the left?

Excellent capture! The nits have been mentioned, but for the classic pose and great posture this is lovely

The stately pose is perfect. I can see why you would be euphoric. I think some careful reprocessing will eliminate some of the nits already mentioned. I you make selective adjustments, you can maximize the drama and remove those tiny distractions. I would suggest you apply sharpening only to the wolf and maybe parts of the foreground, to keep those background highlights from intruding. Neat shot!

Beautiful classic pose Kenneth.
The side lighting is great and shows off it's coat.
The light spot in the upper left bg is a little distracting and I might darken or clone it out.
