I don't think our comment can be much constructive; simply a great shot, with perfect BG and mood!

Congrats

I can't think of any helpful critique, here. I like the position and detail of the bird, the drama of falling snow, the branch with two apples and a snow load—all of it. Even though the bird is, strictly speaking, out of a traditional placement with more space in front than behind, It somehow all hangs together. :toast:

Very nice. I like the non-traditional placement of the bird in this case. Actually, I think the direction of the sleet balances the composition. Great image.

Bill, I agree that there's a lot to like here. I really like the composition you chose, as well as the falling snow, the snow-laden branch, and the small size of the bird in the frame. A cool winter image.

Really like the mood to this image. The snow (falling and otherwise), the look back you got from the bird, the extended perch with fruit and the overall darkness all work very well for me. As does the unusual composition. Nicely done.

Hello D&L, Philip, Richard, Roger, Brian, Ron, Mark.

Thanks All for the Feedback. When I posted I was not able to get the Technicals , So I guessed. Here are the correct Techs.

Speed @ 1/160, ISO @ 1600/ F8/ .............. I wanted something Unique about the composition, and the Placement of the bird without a crop seems to be Ok .

Thanks Again... Always Learning. :)

This is a great shot...truly inspiring...and the small picture doesn't do it nearly the justice that the larger version does. :toast:

Lovely shot Bill, it really gives the feel of a winter snow storm and the small size of this bird braving the elements. The placement of the bird works well here too as he's somewhat balanced by the berry in the lower left. Well done. :toast:

Hello Nate

Well we have had a mild and minimal snow this season, So this snow fall was welcome. The skies were dark and blowing large flakes sideways. I do find the goldfinch summmer colour difficult to get good detail in the bright yellows, so this overcast day with winter plumage was excellent for me.

Appreciate your feeedback
