An image from my La Jolla Cove trip. The Brown Pelicans were striking all kinds of great poses.

Skip, I think you get the prize for the most unique pose!
Fine detail througout, excellent colours, and great sky with the clouds.

cool, Skip. great pose. it's not easy to keep them in the frame when they do this either. super bg. love the detail in that crazy pouch. definitely a difficult comp, I think this works.

Hi Skip ! What an outstanding moment you have captured here. The yawning of these animals is already a thrill, but your angle is simply brilliant ! Congrats ! Hans

Very unusual and yet unique pose, I do not think I have seen very many bird pictures that work well like this with the bird looking at you upside down. Wonderful timing to get this and the blue background really adds to the image, well done.

Wow, Harry! I like this a lot! I actually found this to be somewhat abstract from the thumbnail, and even once I saw it, it took me a second to orient myself...I like that great, sharp view of the head, and those great colors!

Skip,
I really think this needs some clockwise, no wait, counterclockwise, no..east-west ummm north-south rotation of some sort. Hold on, now I'm dizzy and can't see straight. OK, I'm back. Super image my friend. Very tough to keep in the frame and you did a great job. There appear to be a couple of spots where the whites are hot and maybe you can bring those down in CS5. That background is stunning. The ocean with a wave breaking? Super colors. Hope you get the kestrels mating soon. Will probably be at BC this weekend. See ya.
