Agave Sunset

I headed out to a local farm on Saturday afternoon when it looked like there might be some good light. The light was epic. The landscape in my area, unfortunately, is not. I settled for a few "simplistic" renditions of the local flora and some ruins (will post later) to complement the awesome sky we were blessed with.

I need to shoot more landscapes this year!

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 @ 14mm
f11 @ ISO-200
Blend of 2 exposures using luminosity masks

Beautiful landscape. Love the composition and the colors. And your statement in the caption "I need to shoot more landscapes this year!" struck a chord with me. So do I!

I really like this image. The light is sweet and the composition is simple, but very effective. It reminds me of the area I live in and try and find interesting comps when the light is nice. Very fine image.

Very nice, Morkel. Beautiful sky and I love the light and color in the grasses. Nice work!

Hey, simple is grand! The plants and grass really atrract my attention (in a good way). The blending around the main stalk is a little bothersome as it seems somewhat uneven, and I wish the sky was a little brighter (lighter) overall. A super scene, but one that, with a little additional processing, could be even nicer IMO.

You did an excellent job with the comp and light, Morkel. Those are some really cool clouds.

Thanks for the kind feedback, guys. I kept the agaves a bit darker as the sun had already set and what light was left came from left/behind the plants.
