Beetle on Hibiscus

I have a note for myself to make more Macro Insect photographs this season - something I have been neglecting in the last couple of years.

This is a beetle feeding on Hibiscus Pollen - it was literally a feeding frenzy and the Beetle was really moving way too fast. Its possible that the movement has made the frame a wee bit unsharp.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/16, 1/60 Sec, ISO200, Diffuser and Tripod.

All thoughts are most welcome.

Actually, Ram, I like the little bit of motion blur in the front of the beetle. Gives the image a little sense of the feeding action going on. The beetle covered with pollen is great. Thanks for sharing. :toast:

A nice delicate palette and a pleasant subtle light on your image- Surely it seems quite happy to be submerged by hundreds of flower's candies- Nicely done, Fabio

Nice capture Ram. I really like the way the image is so soft around the bug while keeping such great detail on the subject itself.

Wow, this guy really gets immersed in his work! Insects are always a challenge to get sharp pictures of but this one looks fine to me. I like the leathery look, in both texture and color, of his back. I might have been tempted to crop down some from the top but that's a personal choice.

Ram, that soldier beetle reminds me of a jello-wrestler, but in this case it looks more like it's emersed in tapioca pudding. Good details, and the moving antenna is not a problem.
