Buffalo Macro

Something a little different. This was taken some time ago in the northern Kruger National Park. I zoomed in close and went for an almost-abstract view of this young buffalo.

Pretty much full frame. The conversion was a natural choice to enhance the textures and contrast.

Techs:
Nikon D300s with Nikkor 200-400mm f4 VR @ 400mm
f4.0 @ 1/60 SS @ ISO-640

Nice one Morkel, although I'd prefer a bit more dof for the nose.

Good effect, with the black and white. I feel a little less neutral space on the left would be a benefit, but that would move this into a squarish crop... Nice posting.

Thanks for your comments, folks...
Indeed Marsel, I should've noted in my description that in hindsight I should've stopped down some more to get the nose in focus, but alas...next time

A lovely image made even lovelier by the b&w conversion. Wouldn't mind cropping a fair bit from the left even if it meant a squarish frame.
