Osprey at Weeki Wachee Preserve, Florida

1/2000 at f9 and ISO400 -1/3 TC
Canon 300mm with 1.4 TC
Canon 7D

I have an earlier picture that shows the full branch that the Osprey is bringing to the nest. The branch looks to be about 4 foot long. Its a dead branch so probably not as heavy as I first imagined -- but probably heavy enough to do damage to the nest if dropped.

Evidently, the Osprey thought so too. When she got to the nest, she rested one end in the nest and (as the picture shows) slowly lowered the other end into the nest. Was fun to watch

Scott, neat behaviour. Great detail, good wing position and I like the splayed tail. Well Done!!.

I agree with Wade all the way. Great exposure capturing the detail in both the light and dark areas. Excellent.

This osprey image and your previous one look very good, nice feather detail for flight shots. I like the wing position in this one and how the osprey is placing the branch. Very nice image and story to go along, way to go, the larger image was a pleasure to view.
