Back after what it seems a long time, I can admire beautiful photos of Iris flowers and a splendid white rose. I have also seen something new in your technique.
Ian, at this time, this image seems the best Iris shot, with your favorite colors and in your style.

This is just beautiful, Ian! I like this one better than your previous iris shot because there are more elements to hold your interest. I also like the before and after look of this as you mentioned. The two stems fill out the frame nicely for a pleasing comp. I especially like the diffused "foggy" look to the bottom of the photo. Wonderful colors and great details.

This aspiration gives inspiration. I thought unfurling was hard to beat but this one is without doubt much better.

The reverse vignette looks a little strong at the bottom with some glare; this is not a nit but just personal preference.

You set the bar pretty high with this one, Ian. I like everything about this except possibly the beveled frame. Not that it harms the image, but almost as if it were gilding the lily, so to speak.
