I like the contrast between the fiery orange color of the autumn and the otherwise muted color throughout the rest of the scene. The mist rising from the frosted ground also adds another dimension to the mood of the image. Excellent work!!

Chris, I can feel the chilly weather in your photo. I really like the orange leaves and the little bit of fog rising in the background. Wonderful photo!

Wow, this is so pretty! You really captured some wonderful conditions here, Chris. I love the contrast of the elm with the background color of the rock wall. The highlighted pines look very nice too. As Brian mentioned that frosted grass and fog really adds something special here. Beautiful image Chris!

Definitely a pumpkin pie tree if there ever was one, Chris. The light and the frost make for some very pleasing conditions. Could maybe see burning down the URC a bit.

Chris,
I'm going a little crazy here. I swear I posted a comment, now it's gone. I even remember what I wrote, so I guess I'll re-write it. Maybe I'm getting old?
Wonderful rendition of this legendary tree Chris. Everything comes together beautifully, from the frosted meadow to the rising mist and that first glance of morning light. I also like how you were able to isolate this against the valley walls.
I like Tony's idea of burning down the upper corner. Not necessarily because it any brightness needs to be turned down, but for me, more of a slight vignette to keep the eye within the frame. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for sharing this one, I don't recall if you ever showed this one.

I love the subtle pastel colors in this one. Blue, green, white and red all working together to create a very relaxing, sublime feel.

Wonderful contrasting colors here, Chris. The ground fog and hoar frost really adds to the brisk feeling to the scene also.

The back lit leaves are gorgeous Chris. The icy foreground and low lying line of mist adds to the moodiness of this image for me. The color of the orange leaves and pines are beautiful against the gray backdrop of granite.

The light on the elm and the conifers as well as the mist simply make this spectacular, Chris. Love the colors, your composition, everything. You sure handled the light well. Stunning work.

The Elm really looks great in that light with the cooler backdrop Chris, the frosty grass and low lying mist add a lot to the feel of this. The tree fits your comp perfectly.

Chris, you captured exceptional lighting conditions and reflect this specific atmosphere impressively to me. The blue cast in the background rock face is spot on in my opinion and wonderfully complements the glow in the foliage.

Great compo Chris! Light and conditions (mist) make it perfect. The large version is really enjoyable.
Now, I see this is cropped to 4x5. Are you practicing how that format complements your way of seeing..?

Chris - The atmosphere created by the mist and the backlit trees is really perfect. I can't believe you passed by this one! The use of shadow and the different colors separate the image nicely. A beauty. My only suggestion might be to darken the blacks in the shadows of the trees, or maybe add a touch of magenta to the blacks in those areas for a little added contrast. Shadows look a little flat. Otherwise, a fine image.
