Marfa Lights at Dusk

I did not see the famous Marfa (tried to) Lights but this was a spectacular sunset on 1.2.12 on the Davis Mountains.
This was taken on North side of Marfa and the land in the panorama is in held in environmental protection from development (Man and Nature).
I took 4 exposures, f10 at 125/sec with 200 ISO with Sony a900 with 70-400 mm G series Zoom at 70mm.
Mafrotto carbon fiber tripod, flashpoint f3 ball head
This is a 4 exposure stitching in CS5 from raw files in photo merge with slight saturation increase.

Like the pano Rick. You had some nice light. I was there about 27 or 28 years ago and did see the famous Marfa lights - though on second thought, it may have just been the amount of beer I drank before sitting up in the dark half the night!

Joe,

Two of the people we were with for the New Year claimed to have seen the lights at other times. The light on the sun set was spectacular and planning to go back again soon.

Rick, your image is really story telling for me. Especially the large version reflects the vastness of this scene impressively to me.

Gorgeous pano, Rick! Well crafted image. Sitting out in that vast amount of space, if I saw the lights, I dunno what I'd do-- no place to hide. I'd have to dig a tunnel with my teeth-- really fast!
