Another image from the Norwich State Hospital here in CT. This I did a 3 image HDR and converted to B&W in Silver Efex Pro 2. 1st image I have done using SEP, I have to say that program is awesome. Wish I got it along time ago. Looking for some feedback on the processing. I used the pinhole filter along with a film grain to get the overall look.

Processing is very good, Jonathan. Might want to burn the bottom edge so it more closely matches the top edge. Not sure about the formatting. I find the angled edges of the windows on either side to be a bit disconcerting, and it could be just a personal bias on my part. Let's see what other folks have to say.

I really like this. All the debris surrounding the chair, with the chair facing toward one of the windows. One can just imagine an actual person sitting there looking out that window, even among all that desolation. There is just so much to keep the eye engaged and at the same time tell a story of decay and ruin. I like the processing as it gives it great texture. The only thing I would like differently, and this is a small nit, is to have the overall comp shifted slightly higher, bringing the chair closer to the bottom portion of the photo and giving more room at the top. I see that single light up there and I can't help the feeling of giving it and the windows a tad bit more room.

The bad: I think it tilts to the right just a bit. The good: just about everything else. The b&w treatment is working very well for you by emphasizing textures and line. I'm familiar with pinhole photos, and this looks much too sharp for a pinhole to me. I like the sharpnes, but just saying it doesn't say "pinhole" to me. I think the exposure through the windows is about right too. It's not blown out, but it's also brighter than the interior which makes it look more natural and less "HDR."

Great location and nice image. I wish you had included all the windows and kept the verticals true. That is really needed.

Fine art, Jonathan! Great processing. I can't imagine this looking as good or better
in color. I'm looking forward to seeing more postings of your Norwich State Hospital
work.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I do agree with some of the nits with the image. Some on the processing, some make me wanna go reshoot the scene and get the corner of those windows in.

Thanks again for the comments
