Tuscan Light

This photo was taken during a photo workshop in Tuscany in November 2011 with a group of 8 photographers. It is from Val d'Orcia which in my eyes is the most beautiful part of Tuscany.

It was shot with a Canon 1Ds mkIII and a Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II lens.

Ah, it is my dream to get to this part of Italy some day! I like the way you have layered this shot, giving a lot of depth to the image.

Did you use some kind of filter? it looks a little over warmed to me, but that may be my laptop monitor which is over due for calibration.

I like the soft, glowing mood. The scene looks quite painterly.

Very beautiful layers and scene. For me the right part (a fifth) doesn't balance all the way with the left one.
The right one, taken on it's own it would make a very interesting (vertical) frame too, with all those layers.

The Tuscany album on your website is really great.

Hans, this is a very appealing composition to me. I enjoy following the landscape into the distance with all the diverse layers.

Lovely and quite romantic. Would clone the white dot in the upper left.

Thanks everyone for all the comments. The photo was taken without a filter and was post processed with contrast and redistribution of light to how I wanted it to look.

Very beautiful. Tuscany is within reasonable reach and this image inspires to go there (again).I have seen a few great shots from Val D'Orcia. Sure a beautiful spot.
