This is another from the photo tour. We parked on the road along the icefield parkway and I climbed up the snowbank, sinking up to my waist.

I like the back lit, snow covered pines Dean. Also, the zig zag stream is a wonderful lead int to the scene.

The back ground/foreground contrast is extremely appealing, Dean. I'm a bit equivocal on the Zone IX snow. The water course adds some texture, but Could see trying to have a bit more texture in the white snow. Really lovely comp and B&W works great here.

Thanks for the comments. Tony- I'm on an uncalibrated laptop so I could be off on the white level. It was broad daylight and quite white, I'll have another look at it.

Your comp is very nice, the movement of the stream from front to back and the snow covered trees throughout. The snow is quite bright but that can also work as well. I think it is a nice representation of what snow looks like when the sun reflects off of it, blinding.

Cool. I like this high contrast image. It really lets the composition come through. The zig zag stream in the FG and those soft snow bumps contrast well with the texture of the trees. Sweet.
