The west coast populations of Snowy Plovers are classified as threatened, very nearly endangered. Overwhelmingly, the environmental threats are from man. The threats seemed encapsulated in this photo of a Snowy Plover in a beach-buggy track.

Olympus E-5, 300mm x 2.0TC, laying on sand
f5.7, 1/400, ISO400

80% of full frame. Slight adjustments to Levels; usual sharpening drill.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Intersting context, Jim. And a pretty darn good avian image too.

Very compelling image, Jim. He/she is standing right on the edge of the "precipice" here, just as they are right on the edge of being endangered.
Your usual fine detail and comp.
