This image is a little different than my normal work, I haven't really photographed silhouettes much, but I couldn't resist! This is one back from August, it was the last morning of my trip near Grand Marais, MN. A buddy and I reached this lake a little before sunrise, while he set-up I decided to head back to the car to take a little nap... about 15 minutes later I hiked back to the lake and saw the sun rising and glowing through the fog. I quickly ran back to the car, grabbed my equipment and ran back down to the lake and fired off a few images. I almost missed this one... and I was very happy that morning that I decided to go back down to the lake! Since then, for the most part, I've thought twice about being lazy in the morning...

Love that warm morning glow!
Tony,
No grad was used.
Christoph,
I wanted the sun higher too, but as it rose, it moved to the right and went behind the taller trees.

I wish I had a more dramatic story of how I captured the image, but I dont!
