Strait of Georgia

Another image from my recent shoot up at the local ski hill. The land that you see off in the distance is Vancouver Island. The stretch of water in the mid ground is the Strait of Georgia. The city of Vancouver is just to my left.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, this looks very appealing and interesting. A lot of things to observe and study in the fg and midground. A little detail: Maybe you want to crop from the top to elimate that snow structure which obviously belongs to the tree on the right. But it seems a bit disconnected from the rest and is slightly distracting. I think without it, the comp. gets much "cleaner".

Wonderful image Adam, I love the color palette here and the light on the snow. I have to agree with Dietrich, I would crop out the tree on the RH side. Wonderfully done!

Stunning color Adam. The snow covering really brings those trees to life. Your whole series of snowy trees has been very enjoyable. This is my favorite followed by Glimmer of Light.

I like the reds and oranges and purples, but the blues look a little too pronounced on my monitor. Excellent comp, and more great conditions you captured. Really enjoying this year's versions.

Adam...this is a personal request: Please stop posting these incredibly beautiful snow images!!! They make me incredibly jealous and a constant reminder that I did not get a decent snow image this year. Very well done!

Really like the strong colors here. There is a sentinel quality to the trees.

The rich blues against the fiery skies is a hit! Wonderful contrasts and processed to perfection.

Beautiful image, Adam. I can never get enough of these images from your local mountains. I love the comp. There's something about the luminosity here that seems a bit off. I think that the FG is a little too bright for the BG.

This looks excellent to me. You have a great combination of elements here, and the snow-covered trees are fascinating. I'd go with a slight crop from the right as others have suggested. Alternatively, a bit of cloning would eliminate the little glob that hangs into the very top of the frame in a slightly intrusive manner.

Fantastic subjects Adam, all the frozen trees look great. Wonderful array of colour too.

Hi Adam. A lovely image but I find the blues and luminosity of the foreground a little too much. Adrian

Here is a re-post with some of the suggestions made, thanks all.

I darkened the foreground slightly. Reduced the blue saturation slightly. Lightened the sky for better balance and gave the image a haircut. Thoughts welcome, better? worse? don't really care? thanks!

Killer! Beautiful!

I'd clone out the small boats or whatever they are in the left water area.

Is this Seymour? I think the crop helps to focus on the fg tree. Everything else is great, except for the "small" boats, I'd clone them out. :toast:
