This is another shot from Snow Canyon State Park, Utah. I love the open exposure of outcrops in the west and this one was had no trouble catching my attention. I tried a tighter comp with just the bedding planes but decided the blue sky and bushes added contrasting colors and helped anchor the comp. Critiques always welcomed. Thanks for looking

Great patterns in the rock, I like the upswept curve towards the ridge. :toast:

Now I have to go to Snow Canyon next time I go to Utah. Those are some really nice curves. I am sort of on the fence as far as whether to include the grasses or not. It may be a personal choice based on what you want to convey. I like the small amount of blue sky because of the contrast with the hill colors.

I like the rock patterns and I think I would crop the grass so the focus would be more on the pattern, which is the main subject of the image.

I guess I would vote for the crop of the grasses, too, but not completely sold on that. The colors and light are excellent and the lines in the rocks intriguing.
