From Bodie. This is a blend of 4 images. I don't do many HDR photos but this is one of them.

I have seen many photos from this abandoned town; it looks like a fantastic place to visit as a photographer! I like your comp in this and the lighting with the foreboding sky. Good details also. There looks like a fair amount of lens distortion in the buildings but possibly this is how they really look!

It's amazing how well preserved the old vehicle is. Model T? The old buildings add to the vintage nature of the auto. Nice composition and the cloud drama is nice icing on a neat scene. I like it a lot.

The combo of the old car and buildings work well. Looks like fun area to shoot. I like that the background ridge is shaded, so the emphasis is drawn to the sunlit car and closer buildings.

I have had this ghost town on my list for many years Charlie. our image just makes me want to get there ASAP. I think your HDR is very well done and natural looking. Great color, light, and contrast with no visible ghosting.

Thanks everyone. Bodie State Park actually has a program where they will let photographers in before normal opening hours so that they can get the morning light and there won't be a bunch of other people walking around. Last time I checked the cost was $65.00 to get in early. :wavey:

P.S. I realize that there is a bit of lens curvature in this photo, which I could've corrected in PS, but I kinda liked it the way it is as the fisheye effect focuses your attention on the subject a little more.

The rusty car blends perfectly with the buildings and the moody sky enhances the overall sense of decay and abandonment. Very nicely done. The blending looks very natural. Great shot.
