These guys spend a lot of time hunting the river banks looking for winter killed animals to feed on. Last June we found this young Grizzly along the banks of the Yellowstone.

Hi Jess, I was immediately clicking the larger version link as I felt this is one such image that needs to be viewed as large as possible. It seems, however, that you have included the same size image as the large image, so I will have to base my critiques on this small version. I guess the shooting conditions must have been far less than favorable in this case and particularly the light did not help you much. Despite that it is evident that the exposure is perfectly handled throughout with detail in both the bright and dark areas. I like the active pose (with some water action) and looking back head position. Composition wise I am feeling that a bit tighter presentation by cropping off a bit from the right and a sliver from the top would make this a bit more intimate, BUT that could simply be due to the fact that there is no larger version to enjoy.

Nice habitat image you presented there, Jess. I am wondering what it is looking at.
I am happy I don't have to use that spot for fishing as I sure would have scared all the fish when tumbling into the water
I think I would have preferred a bit tighter crop as well. There is so much going on in the background that it gets a bit busy to my taste.
